Case Study

Rockridge Market Hall

Rockridge Market Hall is a European style food hall that is not only a neighborhood institution but an icon in the Bay Area sustainability and artisan food scene. It is lively, diverse, and sensually titillating. Their site was ready for a new feel, as exciting as the shopping experience. As they moved more products online, they needed their personality and position to come across digitally more than ever. Marissa La Brecque Communications was brought in to develop the strategy and copy for the site to express RMH’s identity.

The Results

The market itself is made up of several shops, each independently-owned. Each vendor has their own page on the site and the entirety of Rockridge Market Hall is represented. The copy and design needed to express the individuality of the shops and the cohesion of the vibe. Some pages were left as-is, at the request of the vendor. We landed on a personality that is enthusiastic, expert (even a bit nerdy) and friendly. We were able to use far less words than the previous version and say more. The site feels fresh and confident and completely authentic to a venerable food world institution.
